The Art of the Tasting Menu

“Musicians and cooks are responsible for the most pleasure in human life.” ~Fran Lebowitz

I always enjoy photographing events curated by Gold and Fife.

Natalie Goldenberg-Fife put together an incredible lineup last summer for The Art of the Tasting Menu for the Partnership for Excellence Series. 50 lucky guests gathered at Littlejohn Farm in Prince Edward County to sample a truly special menu created mostly from local ingredients, along with County cocktails and wines. Every cohesive detail is designed to celebrate the talent and artistry of Canadian chefs, winemakers, farmers, distillers, service staff and musicians who make life worth living.

People who attend these types of events are really patrons of the arts, helping to preserve and promote these noble professions.

Watching this group of creators, purveyors, technicians, and servers perform in their craft is like watching a ballet unfold- creativity and artistry, planning and precision, with a dash of improvisation all meet in harmonious confluence. It is really a beautiful thing to behold and I was honoured to be tapped to capture the spirit of this event.
